Failed to load environment from C:\_SMSTaskSequence\TSEnv.dat (80080005)
I have a task sequence that loads either Windows Server 2003 Standard or Enterprise edition depending on which image index you select during the initial part of the task sequence. The Windows Server 2003 Enterprise image works fine, however the Standard edition always fails after the Join Domain step. The OS boots and the task sequence engine just gives up the ghost. The machine is joining the same exact OU, so it shouldn't be group policies. I'm stumped. !--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------! Hi, Please check if %SystemRoot%\debug\netsetup.log does contain some errors that might help troubleshooting. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Captured using two identical task sequences that are just pointing to different installation sources. I checked the netsetup.log, it has no errors. The server joins the domain fine, I'm able to log on with domain credentials and the computer account is created in the correct OU, etc.

I recreated the WIMs and combined them with the same results. This makes no sense.

I think I have found the problem but not the solution: The machines that generate the TS error have the following entry in the System Event Log. The event corresponds with the machine booting after the Domain Join reboot and the Task Sequence attempting to pick up where it left off. Event Type: Error Event Source: DCOM Event Category: None Event ID: 10010 Date: 12/1/2010 Time: 1:45:45 PM User: N/A Computer: Description: The server {1F87137D-0E7C-44D5-8C73-4EFFB68962F2} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout. This message in the smsts.log states it was unable to query WMI pIWBEMServices->ExecQuery(BString(L"WQL"), BString(L"select UUID from Win32_ComputerSystemProduct"), WBEM_FLAG_FORWARD_ONLY, 0, &pWBEMInstanceEnum), HRESULT=80080005 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\framework\osdmessaging\libmachineinfo.cpp,267) OSDSetupHook 12/1/2010 1:45:45 PM 1916 (0x077C)
